 Prepare Lemongrass Seeds

To grow a plant, of course you need the seeds first.  You can use lemongrass in the kitchen.  Choose quality lemongrass seeds, which can be seen from the stems that are fresh and quite old.

Look at the hump, and make sure the lemongrass bulb you chose is still firm.  Peel off the leaf sheath so that you can see the weevil more clearly.  No need to worry about the selected seeds being damaged, because only the stems are planted.

Therefore, you must also remove the leaves on the selected lemongrass seedlings.  Cut the lemongrass leaves until leaving only the stems.  Stems that can be planted have a size of approximately 20 cm from the base.

Prepare Planting Media

If your lemongrass seeds are ready, then the next step is to prepare the planting media.  This time, how to grow lemongrass only requires a planting medium in the form of water so that the materials needed are relatively very easy.

You only need to prepare a medium-sized glass or cup, water, and lemongrass seeds without roots that have been prepared.  This step serves to grow lemongrass roots so that they can be planted in soil media.  When your lemongrass seeds have rooted, you can skip to step four.

Grow Lemongrass Root

Growing lemongrass roots would be better done with water media, because if planted in direct soil media, then the possibility of this plant living is very small.  How to grow lemongrass roots with water media is very easy.

You only need to pour water into the glass until it is full.  Then, put the lemongrass stalks that have been selected into the glass.  Make sure that the lemongrass stalk is upright or at least not too slanted, with the hard part of the bulb submerged at the bottom.

Place the glass containing the lemongrass stem in a place that is not exposed to direct sunlight, such as near a window.  Wait for the roots or shoots of lemongrass to grow for about a week.  When the roots have grown, the lemongrass seeds are ready to be transferred to another planting medium.

Prepare Soil Media

Planting lemongrass also requires soil as a planting medium.  If your lemongrass seeds already have roots, then you must prepare soil media to plant them immediately.  The tools and materials needed are relatively simple and easy to obtain.

You only need to prepare pots, soil, manure, rice husks, cetok, and rooted citronella seeds.  The use of pots made of soil is highly recommended.  But if you don't have one, you can use a plastic pot that has a hole in the bottom.

Move Lemongrass Seeds

When all the tools and materials needed are available, the method of planting lemongrass is continued by transferring the lemongrass seeds to the planting medium in the form of soil.  First, you have to mix the soil, manure, and rice husks in a 2:1:1 ratio.

Once well mixed, put the mixture into the pot provided as a planting medium.  Make a 10-15 cm deep hole in the center of the soil media.  Then, insert the rooted lemongrass seeds into the hole.

Make sure the lemongrass seeds planted are in an upright position and not tilted.  Cover the lemongrass seeds with soil, and compact them.  After that, water the seeds regularly with enough water.  This way, your hydroponic lemongrass plants will thrive in pots.
